Will the Minister of EXTERNAL AFFAIRS be pleased to state:
(a) whether US Department of State which handles foreign relations, shows PoK as part of Pakistan on the Indian map which was published on its official web-site, www.state.gov.in;
(b) whether it is not a distinct pro-Pakistan cartographic tilt that is against the UN protection of the entire PoK including Gilgit-Baltistan as disputed area; and
(c) whether Government has lodged any protest with the US Government in this regard?
ANSWER THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF EXTERNAL AFFAIRS(SHRI E. AHAMED)
(a) to (c) The Government is aware of the gross inaccuracies, in the map of India, which had appeared on the U.S. State Department website. The Government has consistently rejected incorrect depiction of India’s borders on maps used by the U.S. Government. It has used every opportunity to convey to the U.S. side its concern in this regard, and has asked that these maps be corrected.
