Col Gaurav Misra joined IDSA as Research Fellow in September 2017. He is a serving army officer and has a wide range of experience in multiple terrains, to include deserts, counterinsurgency / terrorists operations, and high altitude areas. He has worked closely towards the development of operational logistics and infrastructure development along India’s Northern borders. He has also severed as Military Observer in the UN Peacekeeping Operation in Ivory Coast.
Col. Misra educational qualifications include: BTech (Electrical) from Jawaharlal Nehru University, MSc (Defence and Strategic Studies) from Madras University, and MPhil (Defence and Strategic Studies) from Panjab University. His present research focus is Structural Reforms in PLA and Future Assessed Capabilities.
