Background
Ranjit Ghosh is a senior fellow at IDSAâ€™s Defence Economics and Industry Centre. He is a gold medalist from IIT Madras and during the M Tech programme specialised in Maintenance Engineering and Management. He has a Masters in Management Studies from Osmania University in Defence Management. He has had varied operational and service experience of over 32 years in the Army. As Commandant & Managing Director of an Army Base Workshop he was responsible for the planning and execution of the re-capitalisation programmes of the Infantry Combat Vehicles and Armoured Recovery Vehicles of the Indian Army. At the Integrated Headquarters of MoD (Army) he was associated with the Ordnance Factories, DPSUâ€™s, DRDO and the Private Sector on issues relating to the induction and sustenance engineering activities of military equipment besides being associated with the ongoing defence procurements.
