Vicky Tuke is a final-year PhD scholar at the University of Warwick, UK where she is analysing Japanese foreign policy towards India. She has conducted extensive fieldwork in Tokyo as a Visiting Researcher at Waseda University and intends to use her time at IDSA to meet both Japanese and Indian policymakers and academics to assess the success and reception of Tokyo’s initiatives.
She holds a BA in History (Warwick), which included a year at the University of South Carolina, USA and MA in International Relations (Warwick). Her research interests also include China’s public diplomacy for which she has recently written a chapter for ‘China 2020: The next decade for the People’s Republic of China’ Kerry Brown (ed.) (2011). Vicky has also conducted research on the declining population in Japan with a Lord Rootes Award, worked for the diplomatic advisory group, Independent Diplomat, taught English in China and Rwanda and undertaken internships at the British Embassy in The Hague, Hanoi and UK Parliament.
