Will the Minister of EXTERNAL AFFAIRS be pleased to satate :-
(a) whether Government is keen to finalize liberal visa agreement with Pakistan;
(b) if so, the reasons for delay in signing of agreement and implementation of liberal visa both for tourism and business purposes; and
(c) by when visa agreement between the two countries is likely to be finalized?

(a) to (c) The new Visa Agreement with Pakistan was signed on September 8, 2012, during the visit of former External Affairs Minister Shri S.M. Krishna to Pakistan. Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mr. Rehman Malik signed the agreement on behalf of the Government of Pakistan. Pakistan’s Federal Cabinet ratified the agreement on October 31, 2012 and the President of Pakistan accorded his approval on November 20, 2012.
